Fresh Tomato Sauce

Skip the canned version and try this Fresh Tomato Sauce recipe with ripe garden tomatoes for a flavorful, homemade touch.

Ingredients 

  • 4 large Tomatoes Core removed and chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • ¼ cup Basil Chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Pepper To taste

Equipment

  • Stovetop
  • Large Skillet

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and mix well. Allow to sit 15 minutes or up to an hour to allow flavors to come together.

Notes

Chef’s Tips
  • Can substitute 4 large tomatoes for 1 (15oz) canned tomatoes.
  • Enjoy on toast, with pasta, or on top of chicken or fish.
  • Have kids cut the herbs with a scissors. Point out the smell of the herbs as they cut.
