Halved grapefruits with seasoning in a baking dish

Broiled Grapefruit

Recipe Adapted From: Food52.com
This Broiled Grapefruit recipe features a bold blend of honey, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. It’s a sweet, spicy, and tangy twist on breakfast or dessert that’s as simple as it is flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 2 Grapefruit
  • ½ cup Honey
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Small Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Dish

Instructions

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Trim off both ends of grapefruit making the grapefruit flat. This is just a small cut, which helps the grapefruit not wiggle back and forth. Cut the grapefruits in half and place flesh down on a paper towel.
  • Using a small bowl, mix together honey, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  • Place the grapefruit halves in a baking dish or baking sheet face up. Sprinkle the mixture, about 1 tablespoon per halve. Broil for 7-9 minutes. Remove and let cool a few minutes before serving. Serve with yogurt, granola, ice cream, or simply enjoy on its own.
