Baked Plantain Chips

Enjoy the crunch of regular chips with a healthier twist. Baked Plantain Chips are just as crispy, packed with vitamins, and nutritious.

Ingredients 

  • 1 Plantain
  • Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Knife

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Peel the plantain and cut into thin slices.
  • In a bowl, toss plantain slices with olive oil, salt, and cayenne pepper until well mixed.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place chips in a single layer.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping once halfway through at about 8 minutes.
  • Plantain chips are done when they start to brown around the edges. Remove and serve. They are best served warm but can be cooled on a paper towel and will keep up to one day.
